Dozens of jobs at care home

SEVENTY jobs have been created with the opening of a care home.

Hanford Court Care Home has been built on the site of the former Bulls Head pub, at the junction of Bankhouse Lane and New Inn Lane, in Hanford.

UK care operator Avery Healthcare has bought and developed the £3.5 million residential and dementia care home.

Manager Lorraine Ford said: "We have already welcomed several residents to Hanford Court who are enjoying the community lifestyle.

"We have a highly-skilled team of professionals and support staff to work with us here."

Pub chain Punch Taverns sold the venue in 2010 after complaining about falling trade.

A 219-name petition then failed to stop the popular local from being bulldozed.
